ICE - In Case of Emergency

I stored a special phone number in my mobile phone today... under "ICE"

My brother is an ambulance driver in the Rotterdam area.

In case of a serious accident a phone call may have to be made to a relative of the accident victim. But then,... when a mobile phone is found in one of their pockets,... which number of the long list in the phone's memory should be called?? A tough choice!

Creating the name "ICE" (In Case of an Emergency) in one's phone, with the number against it of the closest relative you'd want to be called in an urgent situation. ICE2, ICE3, etcetera might be added for more contacts.

In an emergency situation, police, ambulance or hospital staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them.

The system has already worked well for a number of years abroad. I hadn't really heard much about it before.

Enjoy,

HK
