WHAT A FUN TRIP
Just got back from Paris an hour ago. Can't sleep, so am uploading my photos to Facebook. Might as well add a little review on the trip to Paris.
This year we had quite a good group of students with us. Not all that many incidents - eventhough I was already talking to one kid's parents 10 minutes after we had arrived at the hotel - he threw a can of coke straight at a car that was parked in front of the hotel - We were ready to send him home.
Tuesday morning all four boys in his room overslept. We had the whole group waiting outside to go into town, when they were still in bed.
Monday night we cruised the Champs Elysées and ended up at the Place du Tertre in Montmartre.
Ran into an artist that did a portrait fo my colleague Jurrie and myself about 3 or 4 years ago. She still remembered that (as we see her every year on this schooltrip). the funny thing was that she even remembered the work we do.
Yesterday we spent all day in Disneyland Paris. Didn't see all that many kids while we were going through the park. We (the 4 teachers on the trip) got to do quite a few attractions. The two showers didn't bother us at all.
Going to Paris is always fun. Having been there so many times now (this was my 30th trip there) you'd think I'd get bored. But NO!!!! I could go there every month.
Each trip I try to include at least one or two locations in Paris I have never been to before. Obviously on a school excursion that's hard, for the kids are interested in different things than we are.
I'll just wait for my next trip in the Fall or around Christmas. Haven't decided yet.
Enjoy,
HK
