FRICKING AIRLINE !

I got to the airport in Eindhoven about 20 minutes before departure of my plane to Italy. (I know,.. a little late, but you wouldn't believe the traffic yesterday!) No luggage to check, so carry-on only.

Unfortunately they didn't let me on the plane. TOO LATE!
Whereas the people were only just boarding.
So I'm back home again (&$#%#**!!!!!!)...

I couldn't believe it. That definitely ruined my day... my week rather!

I had hoped to join the rest of the corps (Jubal) on our week's tour to Italy. They had already left by bus on Thursday night, but since I had to work (meetings) on Friday morning, I decided to follow them later. A flight was a very convenient option. Turned out to be quite an expensive option now... Booking me onto another flight was not easy.

When I checked with their customer service I was told I had to book a new flight if I still wanted to go. The current rate of about 200 euros was absolutely ridiclous.

No cheap flights available whatsoever. I wouldn't mind paying some extra fee or something to get me on another plane instead (Today would have been an option), but this was totally unacceptable!

I tried to find other options, but there don't seem to be any. Some corps people and parents are going to where the corps is by car, but they're only leaving on Tuesday or Wednesday, and my return flight is scheduled for Thursday, so that's not a very good deal either.

Hard to take the decision, but I decided not to go after all. It's absurd asking for such an amount, especially since I could have easily made it to the gate well in time. I called the corps director to let him know I'm not coming after all. And then called and emailed with my friends from Millenium Drum & Bugle Corps who were to pick me up from the Bergamo airport and then take me to Cesano Maderno - the first stop on the Jubal Italy tour.

I'm most likely going to Paris with school for three days now. And then on Saturday to the States. So I do have something to look forward to though.

I think I will have a couple of stiff drinks in town tonight. Damn I'm pissed!!

Enjoy (not really this time),

HK
