FOOD ORDER

Speaking of food... Every week (usually Friday or thursday morning) a truck pulls up next to ours. It's the food delivery! After we have made the menus for the next week we make a list of all the food we think we'll need. Then on Mondays the order is usually called in by Sheryl and additions of whatever we can think of we might need also can be made to the list on Tuesdays. You won't believe how much stuff comes out of that delivery truck.

Every week I am surprised at where we can put everything on Devils Food (the name foor the food truck). I am always afraid we just don't have enough room for all of it. Last week was a lot of stuff,.. this week certainly beat it. The truck was waiting for us when we arrived (eventhough they were told to come after 9AM), so it was straight to work,... no time for a little breakfast.

I don't remember the whole list of products that came in, but here is a reasonable overview of what we managed to stack away in our truck:
6 boxes of styrofoam cups (1000 in each box), 7 boxes of styrofoam plates (500 in each box), 5 boxes of bowls for fruit and pudding (1000 in each box), 6000 knives, forks and spoons, 100 pounds of ground beef, 50 pounds of bacon, 50 pounds of meatballs, 50 pounds of Philly Beef, 600 corn dogs, 6 boxes of beef patties (about 450 burgers), same for the chicken patties, 16 cases of canned fruit (6 #10 cans in each case), same amount of canned vegetables (beans, peas, corn), refried beans, 18 cans of pudding, 3 cases of egg in a bag, a case of fresh cucumbers, a case of bananas, a case of lettuce heads, a case of tomatoes, 150 pounds of potatoes, a case of ketchup, 8 gallons of Salsa sauce, several cases of spaghetti sauce, enchilada sauce, several big boxes with 2lbs bags of tortilla & nacho chips and Frito-Lay chips, frozen orange juice, 50 pounds of mixed frozen vegetables,...

I think I could go on for another while...
Well,.. with 4 meals a day, these corps go through an awful lot of food!

Enjoy,

HK
