WE'RE IN LOUISIANA
You'd think it'd be incredibly hot out here, but the weather wasn't all that bad. Especially not today! In fact... we had a few serious showers and storm blazing over the town of Monroe. This could have been our first "rain-out" show of the season. So far we've been very lucky with the weather at the shows. Corps in the Midwest and on the East Coast have had a few rain out events already. Even the major event in Orlando rained out!
We're staying at the actual showsite, so that's very convenient. Plenty of time after dinner for he members to relax. Yesterday the corps rehearsed in the big stadium where the show was going to be held. It's amazing to see what some of these school facilities are like! In fact... the gym they got to sleep in was impressive too! A giant round arena for basketball games! WOW! During the rain the color guard did their ensemble rehearsal in there. NICE!
The stadium itself is huge too! Blue Devils usually have the priviledge of rehearsing in the best facilities. Just a couple of days ago in Dallas (Little Elm to be precise) they had access to one of the nicest venues there!
Tonight's show was another good one fortunately. Scores went up again. Justs like last year they're staying well ahead of everybody else. A solid first place... but that's what we all thought in 2008 as well!
We're leaving Monroe pretty soon. We've just loaded the food truck and I have little time to finish this update. No time to go back inside to post it. Sorry! Will have to wait until tomorrow! Don't even have time to check on spelling mistakes...
Sylvia - who teaches the Jubal color guard - stopped by the food truck shortly after dinner and was going to check out BD's color guard warm-up.
At the show I saw Thomas and Demphy with Academy, Maarten with Madison Schouts and David with Bluecoats again. All four are from Belgium. And of course Anniek in Bluecoats color guard.
Enjoy,
HK
