To achieve great things, two things are needed;.............. a plan, and not quite enough time. (NOTE: MOST PHOTOGRAPHS ON THIS WEBLOG COPYRIGHT BY HANS KLOPPERT)

BRUSSELS

Greetings from Brussels!

I'm in Brussels (Belgium) for the weekend. The 'rents had their wedding anniversary last month so we (the brothers) sent them on a weekend city trip here,... but then decided to follow them the next day and surprise them.

The weather has been ubelievably kind to us. Bright sunshine all day!

Saw quite some sights, had a few good beers, no waffle yet (maybe tomorrow), and great food!

Back home on Monday,.. but two weeks off from school. I love it!

HOLY SHIT !

No,.. this one is not about the pope taking a dump...

In Salt Lake City (Utah - USA) a few teenagers caused some commotion at the local 7-11 convenient store. They put a bag full of excrement (oh,.. shit) in a microwave, set the timer to 10 minutes and made their way out.

The result was obvious. After a few minutes the shit hit the fan (no,.. not literally)
Some interesting explosion that must have been! One big smelly mess in the store.

With the help of recordings of the security cameras the three were cuaght and will have to cover the damage, estimated at some 2,200 euros.
The microwave oven logically didn't survive the incident. The 7-11 store had to be ventilated thoroughly.

LATEX IS LATEX

A plunge with a difference... stretching condoms to the limit.

Nowadays condoms are (fortunately) used across the globe. Some people however get a kick out of experimenting with them.

In Durban (South Africa) the 37-year old Carl Dionisio made a bungee rope, tying no less than 18,500 condoms together. It took him and his partner over 4 months to make the rope.

He recently jumped off the Wavehouse at Gateway (30 metres!!!). A unique jump!

Dionisio never doubted the strength of his bungee condom-rope. "Latex is latex", he said. The cord was based on a mathematical formula and he was 99 percent sure that it would work. He stated his stomach was in a knot for a month before the jump though.

HOT ASS

This story will blow you away !

Blown right off the toilet seat...

That's what happened to a 62-year-old American from Johnson City.
His visit to the mens' room was almost his last one.

When he flushed the toilet, hot steam came straight up from the toilet pot. Richard Szymanski, who was still sitting on the toilet was blown off and was catapulted against the wall.

A leak in the hot water pipes seemed to be the cause for this accident.

Better get up and put your pants on before you flush!

True friendship is not being inseparable,...

It's being separated and nothing changes!

ROBOT RESTAURANT

In Germany a restaurant was opened that has NO WAITERS!! (so you don't have to leave a tip either!)

The German town of Nuremberg has a brandnew hi-tech revolutionary, fully automated food-joint that looks more like a rollercoaster with steel tracks criss-crossing the dining area. And down the tracks - in little pots with wheels fixed to the bottom - speeds food. Fast food, with the help of good old gravity!

Once seated at your table you can cruise the menu on a touch-screen TV in front of you. You choose your meal and the cooks upstairs can start working on your dish. Everything is prepared from fresh. When it is ready, the meal is put in a pot and given a sticker and a colour to match the customer's seat.

While waiting for your food to be cooked you can use the screen to access the internet, send e-mails and text messages.

PILLOW FIGHT

Here is something I would have really enjoyed participating in!!

A few weeks ago it was International Pillow Fight Day, with massive pillow fight organized across the globe. Obviously the idea for this annual day was initiated in the United States (where else??), but has since the first edition in New York City been copied in numerous cities.
As a kid I always enjoyed a good pillow fight with my brother Ton.

We couldn't wait until the feathers came out!!

Beside New York City, this year the Pillow Fight Day was held in cities such as Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Portland, Vancouver,... also in Beijing, Sydney, Shanghai, Melbourne,... and even much closer to home in Paris, London and Zurich.

The rules are simple:

* Soft pillows only!
* Swing lightly, many people will be swinging at once.
* Do not swing at people without pillows or with cameras. (thank you!!)
* Remove glasses beforehand!
* The event is free and appropriate for all ages.
* Wait until the signal to begin.
* This event is more fun with feathers!

You know what... Maybe I should gather a few friends, copy the idea, get the word out and add our town of Dordrecht to the list above next year, with a pillow fight somewhere in town.
It will be so much fun gleefully bashing each other in a cloud of feathers!!
