WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SENT HOME FROM TOUR
No,.. not me... I only just got here, but the other day something unusual happened that nobody had expected. In Denver a rookie member from another (top-5) corps had gone into the Blue Devils truck and "stole" a uniform, that ended up in one of their own member buses. Of course this must have caused quite some excitement on that particular bus, but this sort of news travels fast and reached their corps director the same night.
I assume this has most likely happened before among corps, but it's not something corps brag about. Some would consider it a fun act, but in this activity or any activity I think it's a very low-class act to do such a thing. Before the show started the member showed up at our truck with his corps director and apologized to our tour manager/corps director.
He also apologized to the member whose uniform he had stolen. As a result of his dumb act he had to leave the corps and was going to be sent home from tour.
No chances for a ring for this guy!
The same thing would have happened in Blue Devils if this had been one of ours.
Enjoy,
HK
